Established on 9th August 2004, the Shanghai House of Entrepreneurs, NUS (SHEN) is a youth organization that seeks to raise the level of interest in business and entrepreneurship amongst fellow Singaporeans and Chinese in Shanghai. SHEN members consist of National University of Singapore (NUS) undergraduates who are under the NUS Overseas College (NOC) programme in Shanghai. The members undergo one-year internship with Shanghai-based companies while attending Technopreneurship courses jointly organized by NUS and Fudan University so as to equip themselves with an improved entrepreneurial skill set. Beyond managing work and studies in Shanghai’s vibrant and challenging environment, members are also engage in the exchange of cultures and opinions with their Chinese and international counterparts; establishing good ties between the various communities. By driving the spirit of Entrepreneurship, SHEN strives to establish for NUS, and for Singapore, a foothold in Shanghai and make a positive difference to ourselves and others during the one-year internship in China.
